There’s this corner in the backyard where I have 4 coffee plants. I’ve seen the dogs hanging around that area, so this weekend I decided to take a look and see what exactly they are doing.

I knew they had been nibbling the wood logs where I once attempted to grow shiitake mushrooms. But now I also know that they have been eating a thick root from an ornamental plant in that spot.
To my surprise, I also learned that small coffee plants are growing directly in the ground, from coffee beans that I didn’t pick up this last time and fell off. Looking forward to seeing how they develop, I love when things grow and develop naturally, it tends to be stronger.
Lolita, our Yorkie, has been with us for 9 months, and we just got Milán a few weeks ago from my dad, whose French Poodle gave birth to 3 black little puppies.
I didn’t write about this, but we had to put to sleep our 10-year-old dog, Pantuflas. So, despite missing him, it’s been good to have these little guys around.

My daugther Fio noticed I was taking a video of the dogs, and immediately assumed she was the star of the video. She’s been wearing these over-the-ear noise blockers for a couple of weeks, due to a sudden fear (panic?) of the rain. We will work it out.
The lemon tree in the big pot should start producing lemons around October. There are a few already growing, and in terms of quantity, I wish we had as many as last time, but we will see.
