Escape to the Enchanting Savegre with My Wife.

Hidden in the mountains of San Gerardo de Dota you can find Savegre River, the cleanest river in Central America (and the 5th cleanest river in the world!)

It’s also one of the places where you can spot quetzals, and we were lucky enough to watch one while taking our breakfast.

We did a 6km hike, had amazing food at the hotel’s restaurant, got to see tons of hummingbirds in the gardens, and had an amazing time together.

On our way back to San José we stopped at CoopeDota, a famous coffee cooperative that also has a restaurant and offers tours. This region called “Los Santos” produces, in my opinion, the best coffee of Costa Rica. I purchased a bag from a local producer, and my wife gave me a Vandola as a gift, which I can’t wait to try it out!
